Cox’s Daugther Traumatised After Efron Meeting Sep 24, 2009

A confused Courteney Cox had to console her five-year-old daughter after a surprise meeting with Zac Efron – because the tot was left “traumatised” by the handsome Hollywood hunk. The former “Friends” star arranged for boy-crazy Coco to meet the “High School Musical” star after realising her little girl had developed a crush on the teen idol. But Cox was left stunned when her daughter was crippled by shyness as she stood before her musical hero – and ran into another room to escape Efron’s beaming smile.

She explains, “Coco gets these huge crushes on people. One day we decided to surprise her and invite Zac Efron over. We didn’t tell her he was coming – she just loves him. We had a video camera up and we told her to close her eyes, (then said) ‘Open them now!’ She freaked out. She was traumatised and ran to her room… She was like, ‘Oh no! I don’t want to go out there!’ I was trying to help her and she said, ‘Well, it’s his face!’”

However Cox, who is married to David Arquette, admits Coco wasn’t the only one with a crush on Efron.

She jokes, “I looked at Zac and I was like, he’s hot. I was so attracted to him, but I ran into the room (to console Coco).”

25 Hottest Actors Under 25 Sep 20, 2009

Prepare to feel old. The actors you are about to see have combined for numerous Oscar nominations, hundreds of magazine covers, and billions in box office earnings – all before reaching the quarter-century mark.

Zac Efron

• Age: 21.

• Years on list: 2007, 2008, 2009.

• What he’s done: He of the perfect hair sang and danced his way to superstardom in ‘High School Musical’ (with ‘HSM’ 3? even hitting the big screen) before branching out in the ‘Big’-like hit ‘17 Again.’

• What’s next: Will prove he’s got dramatic chops in November’s ‘Me and Orson Welles’ (directed by Richard Linklater); then takes two title roles, in the drama ‘The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud,’ and the video-game adaptation ‘Johnny Quest.’

• Industry buzz: “Not only is he hotter than ever as he grows into a sexy leading man, but his career already has more staying power than many of his ‘HSM’ co-stars… Zac has shown that while he’s a very pretty face, he’s also all about being a hard worker and stretching his acting skills like his career mentor Leonardo DiCaprio.”

Courteney Cox Reveals Daughter’s Zac Efron Crush Sep 19, 2009

Courteney Cox has revealed that her five-year-old daughter has a crush on High School Musical star Zac Efron.

The former Friends star said that Coco is so obsessed with the Disney star that she invited him over – but the surprise traumatised the tot.

“Coco gets these huge crushes. One day we decided to surprise her and invite Zac Efron over.
“We didn’t tell her he was coming. She just loves him. We had a video camera out and told her to close her eyes. We said ‘Open them now!’. And she freaked out. She was just traumatised. She just ran to her room. I looked at Zac and I was like, ‘He is hot!’”

And she joked that she ended up trying to get Efron all to herself.

“I wanted to console her [Coco].
“I was trying to help her. She said, ‘It’s his face.’
“I was busy putting on my make-up. I couldn’t really help her. I didn’t need the competition.”

Cox, 45, who is married to 38-year-old actor David Arquette, is currently filming her TV sitcom Cougar Town.

Efron Movie Shooting Final Scenes Sep 18, 2009

Lights buzzing and film rolling, shooting for Universal Studios’ “The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud” is nearing a wrap at its Gibsons’ locations. Residents around town have been curious about the film’s sets and A-list stars Zac Efron and Kim Bassinger since shooting began after Labour Day. For the most part, filming in Gibsons has been a smooth experience, according to location manager Kirk Johns.

“It’s worked out quite well.” Johns said. “Everyone’s been very co-operative and friendly. Despite many young girls hanging around the set, Johns said there has been no disruption from fans eager to catch a glimpse of Efron. At times, some fans have even been allowed to approach the set for a better look – so long as they are quiet. When he’s been available… Zac’s been able to sign a few autographs for people too, which is nice.”

Filming locations for “Charlie St. Cloud” have included Gibsons Harbour, Hopkins Landing, Gibsons Curling Club and Molly’s Reach, temporarily repainted green and renamed “Flynn’s Reach.”

Zac Efron is a Revelation in “Me and Orson Welles” Sep 18, 2009

What a weird career Richard Linklater has had: from goofy slacker dramas to knock-you-sideways romance, from mainstream kiddie comedies to paranoid junkie cartoons. His latest, “Me and Orson Welles,” is perhaps his weirdest to date, on account of its breezy conventionality. It’s not even as experimental (praise be) as Cradle Will Rock, Tim Robbins’s grating backstage-with-Welles politico-drama, which it superficially resembles.

Zac Efron plays an ambitious high schooler with a decent voice and twinkle toes (plus ca change) who wheedles his way to a walk-on in Welles’s infamous 1937 production of “Julius Caesar” in New York (it’s framed by a sort of “I’ll never forget that week” nostalgia rhetoric that makes you wish Linklater had gone the whole hog, and bookended proceedings with a bewhiskered Efron dandling a grandchild on his knee, toffees in hand).

Also in the company are Claire Danes, briefly won over by Efron’s boyish charms, Eddie Marsan, wringing his hands as the financier, and Ben Chaplin, unexpectedly hilarious as venerable English thesp George Coulouris. Newcomer Christian McKay (who’s done a few Miss Marples, and played Welles on stage) makes a magnificent Orson, but it’s Efron who really impresses: showing a depth and charm you’d never have dreamed of. He’s not afraid to look petulant and silly, and does, frequently. That said, there are moments – check out the menacing screengrab above – in which you can’t help but think: Efron should really, at some point, play a killer.

Ed Westwick: I Want Zac Efron’s Body Sep 11, 2009

Gossip guy Ed Westwick is determined to rival Zac Efron in not only the heartthrob arena, but also the body arena.

A source close to the 22-year-old British-born actor tells Life & Style mag, “After seeing new pics of Zac in magazines, Ed’s determined to get cut like him. Ed has no muscles or definition and really wants to improve his body.”

Ed’s workout routine has changed a bit too. Word has it that his personal trainer is working more weights into his training. He also shared that he might want to make the big move to the Big Apple soon, saying, “You don’t really have to leave your apartment for anything. You can have it in the click of your fingers, which can make one lazy.”

Who wouldn’t want to look like Zac?

Vanessa Hudgens & Zac Efron ‘Deny Split’ Sep 11, 2009

Hollywood’s cutest couple Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron have denied that they are breaking up.

A ’source’ had recently claimed that the High School Musical sweethearts were on the verge of a split – due to the lack of time spent together on separate movie sets, and because Zac was too jealous of V’s male fans.

However, according to Gossip Cop, since the story hit the media, a representative for the couple has come forward to deny that there is any trouble in the Zanessa love boat.

Don’t worry, Zac Efron Sep 11, 2009

Actor Hugh Dancy, who plays a man with Asperger’s syndrome in the recent movie “Adam,” fell in love with his fiancée, Claire Danes, on the set of “Evening.” So is Dancy even the teensiest bit concerned about Zac Efron, Danes’ love interest in “Me and Orson Welles”?

“We’ve all got different levels of jealousy, and some people are just quicker to reach the boiling point,” Dancy tells the Advocate. “Personally, I’d like to think I’m fairly balanced.”

In other words, the teen pretty boy doesn’t have to worry about a beatdown from the older British pretty boy. (Although that would be something to see.) “He’s a good guy,” Dancy says.

The Bucks Man Behind “Entourage” Sep 11, 2009

You won’t find his name listed among the “Entourage” credits (although it has been mentioned on the show), but Washington Crossing resident Scott Seigal is among the most important behind-the-scenes players on the hit HBO comedy.

If Seigal doesn’t like something in the script, there’s a good chance it won’t make it onto the show.

“He reads every script before it airs,” says “Entourage” creator/executive producer/head writer Doug Ellin. “He’s probably the first person after the show’s inner circle who sees them.”

So is Seigal some highly respected Hollywood insider? A famous screenwriter?

Nope, just the vice president of sales at Bodek and Rhodes, a Philadelphia-based wholesaler of imprintable activewear.

Oh, and he also happens to be Ellin’s best friend.

The two attended Tulane University in New Orleans together two decades ago and have been inseparable since, talking, Seigal says, a hundred times a day. You get the idea he’s only slightly exaggerating.

Ellin and his family recently spent a few days at Seigel’s shore house in Ventnor.

“We’re like brothers,” Seigal says. “When he came up with the concept for the show, Lori (Seigal’s wife) and I flew out to L.A. when they shot the pilot. We’ve been to the red carpet premieres.

“There’s not a script that he’s writing that I don’t read. Literally everything he does, he bounces off me. I read as he’s writing and give my feedback, and he makes changes to the scripts based on my opinions.”

It was Seigal’s early access to the “Entourage” scripts that led to his 10-year-old daughter, Daryn, landing a job any young actress would salivate over — sharing an on-screen scene with “High School Musical” heartthrob Zac Efron.

When Seigal saw that Ellin had cast Efron in an episode of “Entourage,” he suggested working a character into the scene that his daughter could play.

“It’s fun to watch how it works,” Seigal says. “ ‘Oh, you’ve got Zac Efron? Write a scene for my daughter.’ And he figures out how to do it. He sent us a DVD of the actual lines, and we did a little audition tape and sent it to Doug, and he said she’d be perfect.”

The Efron episode of “Entourage” airs Sunday at 10:30 p.m.

“She was great, very natural, not overwhelmed by the situation at all,” Ellin says. “We auditioned a lot of people and she was the best one. It wasn’t just a favor.”
