Former 90210 and NASCAR heart-throb Jason Priestly recently emerged from obscurity to announce that Zac Efron is the “new Jason Priestly.”

When Priestly told Efron in person, the 17 Again star was simultaneously confused and flattered.

“Wow, that’s really an honor,” said Efron while nodding awkwardly and looking around to see if anyone else knew why the man with well-groomed sideburns was talking to him. “Who’s Jason Priestly?”

Ignoring the public insult, an oblivious Priestly laughed and began rubbing the shoulders of Efron.

“That response was so Jason Priestly,” added president of the Jason Priestly fan club, Jason Priestly. “Brandon Walsh would be proud.”

Before Efron could shrug and ask who Brandon Walsh was, witnesses say Priestly had invited himself over to watch DVDs.

“I’m gonna bring over 90210 Seasons 1-4,” said an excited Priestly afterward. “You know, to show the young gun a couple tricks.”

Efron reportedly told the man who he believed to be a homosexual stalker to leave him alone after Priestly demanded the viewing party.

“He kept patting my back and telling me about all the girls he had to turn down because of moral reasons,” said a still shaken Efron. “Then he told me to meet him at the Peach Pit, where ‘Nat’ would hook me up. I don’t ever want to know what I’d be hooked up with.”

“Pie,” clarified Priestly, though Efron had already walked away, too cool for school.
