Zac’s back!

It hit stores April 21st following the April 17th film premiere and includes new artists like The Virgins, The Kooks and Cat Power as well as songs that were big in 1989 (the year his life changed) such as “Bust A Move” by Young MC and a great montage set to “On My Own” by Vincent Vincent and the Villains, which are two of the artists from the soundtrack. New Line Records announces the release of the original soundtrack to the upcoming New Line Cinema/Offspring Entertainment production, 17 Again starring Zac Efron and Matthew Perry.

The thirteen-track record offers material from Cat Power, newcomers The Virgins, Vincent, Vincent and the Villains, Helio Sequence and other indie favorites. The collection features classic artists as well; no film about reclaiming the glory days would be complete without Kenny Loggins’ “Danger Zone.” The true tour de force, however, is Young MC’s “Bust a Move” from the film’s major Zac Efron dance scene.

Zac Efron dropped out of Footloose, so what exactly is his next move?
Zac’s next gig may match him up with Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson. The two are in rumored talks to sign on for Johnny Quest. The film is currently in production and if things go as planned Zac will be playing the title role of Johnny Quest.

Johnny Quest was a successful Hanna Barbara animated series in the mid-1960s and the film will follow young adventurer Johnny Quest, his scientist father, brother and pet bulldog on crazy escapades throughout the world.

So will Zac sign on or not? Well, in the midst of the media circus surrounding his most recent project 17 Again, Zac told Extra that “it’s just a rumor at this point. It’s really early on.” But he does say that he “Just had a meeting.” The film doesn’t have start date yet so Zac isn’t talking too much at this point.
