Zac Efron is teaming up with Claire Danes in Me And Orson Welles.
The High School Musical star will have a love interest in Claire in the romantic drama, directed and produced by Oscar-nominated Richard Linklater.
“Zac is not only an actor but also a musician, a bona fide song-and-dance man – we ladies are defenceless against such a combination,” Claire gushed in an interview with Time magazine.
“We all know that Zac is a song-and-dance man. What is less known – and what I had the privilege of learning firsthand – is that he is a performer capable of great subtlety and vulnerability. Zac is not only an entertainer but also an artist. He is going make us swoon for many years to come.”
Based on the novel by Robert Kaplow, Me And Orson Welles sees teen student Richard Samuels (Zac) make his Broadway debut, fall in love with an older woman (Claire) and work with the youthful Orson Welles.
Me And Orson Welles will be released in the UK on December 4.
Zac has found another new leading lady in Amanda Crew, who has signed up to star opposite him in new romantic thriller Charlie St Cloud, according to The Hollywood reporter.
The 23-year-old Canadian actress will play a young woman, believed missing in a sailing accident who meets and falls in love with a cemetery caretaker – played by Zac – but he starts to wonder if she might be a ghost.
The film, based on Ben Sherwood’s novel The Death And Life Of Charlie St Cloud, will be directed by Burr Steers and produced by Marc Platt.
